The front-page, top story on Election Day, June 8, about Paul Madore was, in my opinion, what amounted to a campaign contribution for Sen. Rotundo.

In the piece, the Sun Journal quoted Rotundo charging Madore with lying about her record. The obvious follow-up question should have been “How?” But that question was never asked. Such a biased article adds to the cynicism that the public has for the media.

If instead of reporting on hearsay, Rotundo’s voting record had been revealed in the article, Lewiston would probably have a new senator. Gee, I wonder how much it would cost to buy front-page, top-of-the-page advertisement with bold header?
