Our state government wants us to pay another 1 cent sales tax. that wouldn’t be bad in some states where it goes for two-year, free college, but here, it just goes to pay off our state overspending. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out; so, why does it happen?
It all starts way back, years ago. Our state wants to look and be like a state with 30 million people who pay taxes and we expect to do it with just over a million?
We wouldn’t have a problem if these people would let industry in and new merchants and retailers and stop taxing people to death.
We can’t get more people here because our state chases them out with all these laws and taxes. Even our own kids get out as fast as they graduate. They’re smarter than people think, and they don’t need a $3,000 computer to tell them this.
Maine government should get their act together. Let people get somewhere instead of in debt and poor. It would be nice to be proud of our state and government instead of the opposite.
