Money woes can be solved in part by various methods. Instead of paying for cable TV, I put all my money for it into a pension plan, which I now collect since my retirement.
Instead of buying sodas, snacks, magazines, etc., I have banked the money into a vacation club and had enough to go on a trip to Canada.
Some furniture for the house was bought via the same method instead of going on vacation.
Same method was used to pay into a Christmas club so that presents could be bought at holiday time.
Instead of buying clothing at expensive stores, I have found some nice things at Goodwill or Salvation Army stores at lower prices. Things I needed for the house were purchased at yard sales for the most part.
At my house, we eat a lot of leftovers, which make quite a few meals. I even freeze some for other meals, making my own TV dinners, rather than buy, buy, buy, all the time.
A bag of flour, sugar and a carton of eggs make a lot of stuff like waffles, pancakes, pies, cakes and muffins. Why buy store-bought all the time? One can eliminate the salt, use less sugar and thus follow a
diet. Perhaps others could use similar techniques. It worked for me. And it still does.
