I’m writing in the hopes can help save the Central Maine Civic Center. I am a street team member for a band who played at the Civic Center in March 2003, which I must add, was sold out. I also attended another show as recently as the beginning of December, which was sold out as well.

I have been taking pictures from before the start of renovations up until the present, and the changes have been outstanding, inside and out. I have sent the pictures to management for the band I promote, hoping to entice them into coming back.

Is anyone thinking of the shows we will not have if we lose the Civic Center, or the traveling we would do to attend a show, the money people will spend in places other than Lewiston, if we don’t have a place to hold such shows?

This affects lots of people locally, and people who would travel to these shows, as well as businesses in the area, children who would have joined in activities at the center, employees that would be needed, and on and on.

Am I the only one thinking about that? I have traveled to Portland and other places, but I’d much rather keep my money right here in the Lewiston-Auburn area.
