We have now had two storms and the sidewalks on the even-numbered side of Turner Street were not cleared in a timely manner. Usually this would not make me upset, but the sidewalks on the odd-numbered side of Turner Street were cleared several times before work began on the other side of the street.
I have called the city garage and city hall several times. I was told that the sidewalk snow blowers were broken, but then I saw one go up the odd-numbered side of Turner Street, even though it had already been cleared. I followed the snow blower, which went to another work site. My side of the street wasn’t touched.
I called the garage and city hall again. I was transferred to voice mail at the garage and at city hall. I got no return phone calls. I have only received an answer to an e-mail I sent to the city manager. She stated she was unaware of my leaving messages for her. At least she responded to the e-mail. That’s more than I can say for the garage.
Perhaps it is time for the mayor to take a look into how resources are being managed.
I am a homeowner and pay my taxes and deserve the service I have paid for, which includes clear sidewalks. Would not common sense dictate that before doing a side that has been done twice already you do the side that has not been done?
