I think that it is important for athletes and other famous people to be held to a higher standard than the people that are not famous. I think that because people like me look up to them and want to be just like them.
My role model is Paul Pierce. If you do not know who Paul Pierce is then, he is the power forward for the Boston Celtics. He is the best basketball player (other than Larry Bird) to ever play for the Boston Celtics.
From research that I have found on the Internet and in the encyclopedia, I have found that most athletes and other famous people say that they should be held to a higher standard than other people that are not famous. Derek Jeter says he should be held to a higher standard than everyone else because he is a role model and people look up to him.
That’s why I think athletes should be held to a standard for their actions.
