America is a safer place now that Saddam Hussein has been captured, a statement made by President Bush during his press conference.

But the terror alert level was raised to high risk (Dec. 22). Why? Al-Qaeda, the main culprit of Sept. 11, might be on the warpath again.

Why did Bush and his administration go after Saddam Hussein? Saddam had nothing to do with Sept. 11. Bush had a personal vendetta toward Saddam. “He almost killed my daddy.” Because of his personal hate, Mr. Bush declared war on Iraq. The first bombs were dropped when intelligence information sighted Saddam and his entourage in a specific area. Boom, the attempt to kill Saddam started.

Mr. Bush is responsible for all the destruction with Iraq. Yes, Saddam killed many of his people. Many leaders of the world have done the same. This could even be said about Mr. Bush. As governor of Texas, how many faced death row without a pardon? Now, as commander in chief, he sends our troops to come face-to-face with death leaving behind many broken hearts. Why? Because “he almost killed my daddy.” Now Bush wants Saddam dead.

Being a diplomat, Bush is willing to let the Iraqis do this dirty job. Bush will continue to assert to Americans that we are now safer under his leadership. Think twice before re-electing someone who is responsible for the death of our young Americans.
