I’ve been a Minot resident for 35 years. I have always felt that our property taxes were appropriate for the amount of services that the town supplied.

As a result of a re-assessment of property values, our property taxes have doubled. The cost of maintaining a town has increased over the years. I feel that the cost of education is the biggest increase in our town. Though I am all for education, I feel that it’s time the school systems tighten their belts, as we all have to.

It’s nice to have a wish list, but increases should come only after all waste has been eliminated.

William Burroughs, Minot
