The city of Lewiston now charges landlords of apartment buildings $10 per unit, per month, to pick up the trash. My landlord raised my rent $10 per month. So now, in effect, I am paying to have my trash picked up.

I should have the option of either paying for the service or disposing of my trash myself, and therefore, not be charged. I know it is only $10, but it does not sound fair to me.

Imagine, having to pay an extra $10 a month just because you do now own your own home?
