Here, Here to Jeff Larochelle about keeping it down (Sept. 9).

I owned and drove a 1974 Honda CB- 350, a 1986 Honda Nighthawk 650 and a 995 Honda Goldwing 1200. I never found it necessary to rev-up the engine as I was coming to a stop. I never found it necessary to rev-up the engine to take off. I never found it necessary to rev-up the engine when I was at a stop because bikes have an idle, just like a car.

I drove a bike when I was young and still drive a bike in my 50s. I have learned one thing about bikes, all this revving up,( to look macho), wastes gas, pollutes the air, wears out your clutch and annoys people.
