I am very appreciative that the Hemond family opened their track to so many people who love the sport. Their motives were straight from the heart, not to make the neighbors mad and create noise; otherwise they would have invested in something more certainly profitable. Their track is a great place to be with family and friends enjoying this sport.

The Hemonds have pleased many more people than they have upset. I couldn’t believe how many racers, their families and friends were at the first race, about 500 entries. It was just a great place to have fun.

The first noise test was performed thoroughly at many different locations, was explained in detail and the track passed with flying colors. How was the most recent test performed? There was no description offered and no indication of where it was performed. Did a company perform the test or was it an individual with a motive?

I was at the race the Sunday that the noise test was performed. On one instance, a muffler fell off a bike and created an excessive amount of noise for a few minutes. This rarely happens. I’m guessing this is when the decibel level reached a higher than normal level.

Personally, I would rather have my brother and nephews on a supervised track with medical services than on a trail where the could get hurt or even killed like so many snowmobilers do every year.
