Having worked as an accountant for 30 years and exposed to, and involved in, all phases of the profession, as determined by generally accepted accounting principles directives, I find the manipulation of systems and numbers at both the federal and state level ludicrous. Voodoo accounting?

These events bring to mind the old adage that figures don’t lie, but liars sure as heck figure.

As to the furor being vented toward our president for his handling of the war in Iraq, and using the military for political gain, (like his carrier landing) I am reminded of other(s) exploits from previous administrations and feel, to paraphrase Shakespeare, that indeed they protesteth too much.
