During the evening of the Blueberry Festival fireworks, the boat parade was interrupted by a power boat producing high “rooster tails” of water and very loud noise. This boat sprayed some of the boaters and people watching from Lake Road.
This boat was not a part of the boat parade sponsored by the Friends of Wilson Lake, nor did the Blueberry Festival Committee sanction it.
We all regret its occurrence and apologize to all who may have been sprayed, injured or felt threatened by its presence or noise. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy Wilson Lake in a safe, courteous manner.
Wynn Muller, Wilton, president, Friends of Wilson Lake
Shannon Smith, East Wilton, chairman, Blueberry Festival Committee
