A product that has been in development for nearly 10 years made its market debut at the International Housewares Show in January, 2003. The LifeStyle Ironing Center was designed to make the ironing center relevant to the needs of today’s consumer, in terms of speed and ease of use, use of space, quality of design and overall value. The patented Lifestyle Ironing Center is a sturdy yet contemporary looking ironing center that folds out from behind a detachable decorative cover and offers many unique options not available with current centers on the market.
LifeStyle Ironing Center Benefits:
* The LifeStyle Ironing Center has a recommended retail price of just $99 yet it has the functionality of traditional ironing centers that range in cost between $200-$500. The LifeStyle Ironing Center takes up far less wall space than a traditional ironing center, yet still offers a full-size ironing surface. It’s also the first ironing center to offer its own built-in extendable clothes hanger.
* Because the board opens parallel to the wall, it can be mounted almost anywhere, walk-in closets, TV rooms, even in confined spaces such as narrow hallways. The ironing board in a traditional ironing center opens perpendicular to the wall and doesn’t fold onto itself, requiring too much space.
* The board in the LifeStyle Ironing Center rotates a full 180 degrees, making it convenient for left or right-hand use. Most boards in traditional ironing centers do not rotate; of those that do, most rotate only 90 degrees.
* The ironing board is 44″ x 14″ and weighs about 24 lbs. The LifeStyle Ironing Center comes with a steel mesh ironing board with cloth cover, a chrome iron rest, extendable chrome clothes rack, and decorative ABS plastic cover.
* It comes in a briefcase-style box with a handle for easy carrying from the store to the home. Traditional ironing centers are too large to fit in a car trunk, so there is a delivery charge over and above the sticker price.
* Also, traditional ironing centers can be difficult and costly to install. Most people will need to hire a tradesperson for installation – another significant “hidden” cost. The LifeStyle Ironing Center is very simple to install and can be done by the homeowner without special tools. The cover of the LifeStyle Ironing Center can even be painted to blend with or complement the décor of the home.
The LifeStyle Ironing Center was designed by Garry W. Allen, the owner and CEO of Better LifeStyle Products Pty. Limited (BLP). Prior to starting BLP, Mr. Allen owned a commercial design and installation company serving the residential and hotel markets. “I simply saw a need to update the design of the traditional ironing center to meet the needs of today’s consumers,” says Allen.
The product is being marketed by Think USA of Pasadena, California and is being distributed by Hailo-North America – a US subsidiary of the European market leader in ironing boards.
The LifeStyle Ironing Center sells for $99 and is available online at www.betterlifestyleproducts.com
