AUBURN – The Eastern Ski Writers Association has named Bump Heldman the recipient of the men’s 2008 Don A. Metivier Golden Ski Award.
The winners were recognized Friday in a ceremony at the New England Ski Museum.
The award is presented to the top male and female racers ages 19 and under based on their average world ranking in their top three events.
Heldman, 19, an Auburn native and graduate of Gould Acedemy in Bethel, is a member of the U.S. Ski Team’s development roster. He posted top-20 finishes in U.S. Alpine Championships, World Junior Championships and NorAm competition last winter.
New Hampshire’s Julia Ford was the women’s winner.
