LEWISTON – Ball Busters defeated L-A Harley to capture the post-season championship in the American Division of the Lewiston Rec Men’s Softball League. The Busters also won the regular season pennant.

In the National League, BT Pallet Dawgs beat Gipper’s Thursday night to advance to Friday’s finals against unbeaten 20-M Club. If Pallet won last night the “if” game is set for Monday at 6:00 at Randall-1.

20-M Club (3) upset BT Pallet (1) 17-4 to advance to the title game. Derek Ouellette and Mike Conicilli both went 4-4, each swatting a homer. Other repeat hitters were Rob Bernier, Mike Thibault and Ross Nadeau.

In other action this week, Gipper’s (2) eliminated Schemengee’s-Little Joe’s (5), and Gridiron (4) ousted Carlton Club (6).

Auburn Co-Rec League

AUBURN – Double-elimination playoffs begin Sunday in the Auburn Co-Rec Softball League. They will continue on Sunday, August 26 when a champion will be crowned.

Auburn Players League

AUBURN – E.S.M. and Meineke Muffler are the lone remaining unbeaten teams in the Auburn Players League playoffs.

E.S.M. rolled past Gritty’s 20-5 Thursday, and Meineke outslugged Major Automotive 16-13. E.S.M. and Meineke will clash Tuesday at 6:00 at Pettengill. Two other games were slated Thursday, Webber-Buckfield vs Interstate Batteries, and Hart vs S&D. Those two winners will meet Tuesday at 7:30 at Pettengill in the losers’ bracket.

S&D Sheet Metal Sharks rallied for 5 runs in the last of the 7th to post a first round victory over Uncle Andy’s. Jeff Dionne’s 2-out clutch hit capped the rally. Nic Marr, Rodney Mercier, Jeff Dionne and Rick Fecteau were repeat hitters for the Sharks, Marr scoring 4 runs.
