LEWISTON – The ASA Men’s Slow Pitch District 8-9 Tournament is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday at the Randall-Road complex. Any team finishing 2-2 or better will qualify for the State Class D Championships set for July 13-15 in Lewiston-Auburn.
Following is the opening schedule: Saturday, 8 a.m., Gritty’s vs 20-M Club, Randall-1; Mockler Construction vs Carlton Club, R-2; Fast Breaks vs Blue Goose/LASA, R-3. 9:15, L.A. Harley vs Pride Concrete Floors, R-3; Lincoln Street Radiator vs Delisle Construction, R-2; Varsity Lettering vs Webber Avenue, R-1. 10:30, Major Automotive vs winner Gritty-s-20M, R-3. 11:45, Interstate Battery vs winner Varsity Lettering-Webber, R-2. The tourney continues all weekend with the championship game set for Sunday at 10:30 at Randall-3.
Jeanne Strout, ASA District 8 and 9 Commissioner, reminds teams that any player who is listed on more than one ASA roster must decide which club he will compete with in championship play. Once he commits to that team he may not play for any other club.
