MECHANIC FALLS – Vineyard Christian Fellowship hosted the FUEL 3-on-3 youth basketball tournament on Saturday, Sept. 24. Teams of players ages 13-to-18 from area schools participated in the event, which included a Hot Shot competition.
The winning team was comprised of players from the Oxford Hills area, followed by teams representing Poland and Mechanic Falls. Trophies and prizes were awarded to the top three teams and to the winners of the boys’ and girls’ Hot Shot competition. Various door prixes were handed out during the day along with other prizes, food and drinks donated by area businesses and individuals.
The tournament was organized and run by staff of the youth ministry, FUEL, an extension of the Vineyard church. FUEL has organized many events for local teens and meets most Friday nights from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the church. Meetings and events are open to all area junior and senior high students.
