LEEDS – Veteran golfer Gerry Laroche of Lewiston, a long hitter, registered a hole-in-one Sunday at Springbrook Golf Club. The lefty aced the #8 hole, 168-yards, using a 5-wood. Playing partners were Jim Fennessy, Rick Carleton and Pat Murphy.
It was a highly successful day for Laroche who was competing in the Turkey 2-Ball, Blind Draw event. He and his blind draw partner, Sid Cohen, earned second net honors, a 59 (MC); he won the closest to the pin contest on #8 with his ace; he earned a gross skin on #8 and #11, and captured a net skin on those same holes.
