LEWISTON – For the first time in Maine, there will be a Rated Tournament being held under the auspices of United States of America Table Tennis (USATT). The Multi-Purpose Center Table Tennis League will be hosting the Maine Spring Table Tennis Open, May 1 at the MPC gym. This is the initial attempt to host such an event by a Maine table tennis league that holds a USATT charter.

The Open, sponsored by Stiga, Paddle Palace and Nittaku, is an “0” star tournament. Round robin events will include groups of 4 to 6 players, with the top 2 in each group advancing to single elimination. All matches will be best 3 of 5, 11-point games. The tourney is open to all players of all levels, even if they are not affiliated with a league.
