AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA Baseball Hittting Instruction Program is scheduled to begin Monday, March 22 at Bates Mill #2.

The clinic is designed for youngsters ages 8-15. Players will be grouped together by age to assure proper distance and instruction. Participants will attend one 60-minute class per week. Team slots are also available.

Casting event set

AUBURN – Kmart in Auburn will host the B.A.S.S. Bassmaster CastingKids Competition, Saturday, March 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Androscoggin Bass Masters will conduct the event which includes the basics of fishing – flipping, pitching and casting. Instructors will assist with beginners.

Gamrat wins title

LISBON FALLS – Troy Gamrat, 14, of Lisbon Falls, earned the championship in his class while racing go-carts at Box Shop Speedway at Kezar Falls.

Gamrat, who has been racing for 3 years, earned the title in an adult division. His lifetiime goal is to become a NASCAR racer.

Hoop camp planned

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 10-19.

The program is by invitation only. One of the many summer camp locations is Poultney, Vt.
