AUBURN – Additional teams are sought for the Poland Spring 1-Pitch Softball Tournament to be held Saturday, Sept. 11 on Auburn diamonds.

Rain date is Sept. 12.

Entry fee is $150 per team. It’s an ASA-sanctioned tourney.

Funds raised will assist the Poland Spring softball team in its trip to the World Tournament in Florida later in September.

AUBURN – Two more playoff games are slated tonight at Pettengill. Ball Busters and CarQuest Auto will meet in the winners’ bracket at 6:00, and Able Power and Melanson/WAC will clash in the losers’ bracket at 7:30. The semifinal game is set for Tuesday at 6:00, and the championship contest for Wednesday at 6:00.

Ball Busters advanced in the winners’ bracket with a 13-3 victory over Lincoln Street Radiator. Bill Mason pitched superbly while Greg Brochu smacked 2 solo homers.
