LEWISTON – The Lisbon Street Getty Mart Redskins and the Compass Coin Lions were victorious Sunday in opening Senior Division games in the Lewiston Area Football League for Youth (FLY).

The ‘Skins blanked Aaron’s Steelers 24-0. Offensive standouts were runners Casey Thurlow, George Hopkins and Tyler Haskell. Scoring touchdowns were Stephen Hinkley, Kevin St. Pierre, Thurlow and Hopkins. Thurlow scored on a 45-yard run. Jacob Lavoie, Brent Freve and Shuaib Naji opened big holes in the line. Shining defensively were Mickey Barboza, Devin Goyette, Hopkins and St. Pierre. Haskell blocked a punt and Goyette recovered a fumble. Standouts for the Steelers were Bill Lahey, Thomas Davis and Derek Larrabee.

The Senior Lions toppled the Giants 41-0.

In the Junior Division, Grimmel’s Gas-Up Giants outlasted Don Morin’s Photo Lions 31-19, and the Northeast Athletic Redskins turned back the Bagels ‘n Things Steelers 27-6.
