TURNER – Senior center and captain Doug Nash lit up the scoreboard with a whopping 25 points, blocked three shots, and ripped down 18 rebounds as Leavitt took apart Lewiston with a 55-39 victory in a boys’ basketball game Friday.

The Hornets (2-14) constructed a 32-19 halftime lead against the Blue Devils (4-12). Noah Poto dropped in 12 points for Leavitt.

Lewiston’s Ronnie Turner hit for 16 points.

Lake Region 70, Poland 37

POLAND – Phil Leighton poured in 23 points to lead Lake Region to a 70-33 win over Poland in Western Maine Conference action.

Zach Tompkinson, who combined with Leighton for six 3-pointers, added 16 for the Lakers (13-3). Mike Littlefield led Poland (3-13) with 10 points, while Kyle MacVane added eight.

Wiscasset 67, Lisbon 28

LISBON – Alex Slack scored a game-high 16 points to lead Wiscasset in a 67-28 MVC victory over Lisbon on Friday.

The Redskins (15-1) pressured the Greyhounds (0-16) into poor shot selection, holding them to just eight points in the first half.

Jason Dennison also hit double figures for the Redskins with 10 points.

Nick Jones paced the Greyhounds with 11 points while Tobey Harrington added eight.

Hampden 57, Mt. Blue 46

FARMINGTON – Jacob Moore and Brad Dolan scored 16 points apiece to lead a three-pronged attack to spark Hampden to a 57-46 triumph over Mt. Blue.

Moore, Doland and Noah Burditt, who added 14 points, combined to match Mt. Blue’s total points.

Following an 8-8 tie after the first quarter, the Broncos opened a 21-15 lead at the half and slowly increased the advantage in the second half.

Jamie Sawyer led the Cougars (11-4) with 15 points.

Winthrop 74, Carrabec 58

WINTHROP – Senior forward Andrew Smithgall had a spectacular outing with 26 points to lead Winthrop to a 74-58 victory over Carrabec in MVC boys’ basketball aciton Friday.

The Ramblers (12-4) kicked it up a notch in the third quarter with a 28-10 run. Chad Morang chipped in with 15 points, while Skyler Whaley added 12 points for Winthrop.

Justin Richards led the Cobras (2-14) with 19 points. Aaron Lane contributed 17 points for Carrabec in the loss.

Cony 70, Oxford Hills 68

SOUTH PARIS – Senior forward Brian Carville dained a team-high 20 points to lead Cony to a 70-68 victory over Oxford Hills in KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Rams (10-6) took a two-point lead early in the fourth quarter and held on for the win by making 10 ensuing foul shots. Senior guard Ryan Minoty added 16 points for Cony.

Senior guard Josh Childs notched a game-high 21 points for the Vikings (6-10), while senior center Jordan Farrar contributed 11 points and junior guard Cody Hadley added another 10 points.
