FARMINGTON – Ryan Beam picked up the rebound from Andrew Merriken’s free kick and booted it into the net with 21:29 left in regulation to lift the University of Maine at Farmington to a 1-0 victory over Thomas in collegiate men’s soccer action Tuesday.
Beam’s tally was the difference in a tightly-contested affair, as the Beavers (7-7) and Terriers (7-12) each fired 15 shots. Matthew Dennett finished with seven saves for UMF, including point-blank stops on Jonathan Klippert and Tim Costa in the opening half.
Keegan Curtin turned aside six shots between the posts for Thomas.
