JAY – Alexii Smith fired a no-hiotter and struck out seven to lead Jay to a 2-1 softball victory over Mt. Abram.

Smith also knocked in both of Jay’s runs, singling home Brittany Dipompo in the third and fifth innings.

Mt. Abram’s lone run was scored on an error in the third inning. Molly McCafferty scattered eight hits in the loss and fanned seven.

Oxford Hills 8, Morse 2

BATH – Oxford Hills erupted for four runs in the seventh inning, and Teira Durgin homered and had a base hit as the undefeated Vikings (3-0) dropped Morse, 8-2, in softball Friday.

The Shipbuilders (1-2) held a 2-1 lead after three innings before the Vikings tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Kristy Jurczak pitched the final three innings for the Vikings and walked off with the win.

The Vikes’ Mindy Rugg and Brooke Ladd each had two hits. For Morse, Ali Gieroux had three hits and teammate Amber Tuplin had two.

Fryeburg 6, Poland 0

POLAND – Hannah Hill pitched a two-hit shutout and collected a pair of hits as Fryeburg nailed down a 6-0 win over Poland in WMC softball action Friday.

Bryie Walker and Heather Tripp tapped out a pair of hits each for the Raiders amidst five errors by the Knights (1-1).

Senior center fielder Alicia Dube had Poland’s only two hits of the game, a pair of bunt singles in the losing effort.

Skowhegan 16, Mt. Blue 2

FARMINGTON – Sam Gray had two hits, including a grand slam to spark Skowhegan to a 16-2 victory over Mt. Blue.

The Indians (1-2) pounded out 19 hits. Gray was also one of four Skowhegan players to hit doubles in the five-inning contest.

Kaitlyn Bartlett had an RBI single for Mt. Blue (0-3).
