AUGUSTA – Cam Angell scored 25 points to lead Central Maine Community College to a 78-70 victory over Maine-Augusta in the quarterfinals of the Yankee Small College Conference.

The Mustangs (13-10) led 35-34 at the half and maintained a 3-5 point lead for much of the second half. Both Angell and David LaBonte sank four free throws apiece down the stretch to help CMCC pull away. CMCC also hit 10 3-pointers compared the UMA’s two.

Matt Scevoiur added 19 points and LaBonte had 18 for the Mustangs. Adam Porter scored 27 and Deon Cheers had 17 for UMA (10-13).
