Call it junk, call it justice, call it whatever you want. Three key forfeits by Scarborough, imposed by the MPA after Jay Mazur illegally coached his team after receiving a game disqualification penalty, could have an impact on the playoff race in Western Class A. St. Dom’s is one of those teams to have a decision reversed in its favor.

Helping to light the lamp

So often in high school hockey, goal-scoring trumps point production as an assist-oriented player. Biddeford junior Brian Dumoulin, a defenseman who nearly left to play junior hockey after last year’s state title, is one of those players. He is near the top of Western A in scoring. At last check, he had 14 points, 11 via assists.

Finding success

Despite a rash of injuries to start the season, Westbroook, under the guidance of former St. Dom’s skater and former Lewiston assistant Travis Jalbert, has passed the .500 mark. At 4-3-1, the Blue Blazes are on track to better their record from last year in about two weeks’ time, give or take a loss.
