POLAND – Olivia Roy scored the eventual game-winner as Traip Academy nipped Poland 2-1 in WMC field hockey action Saturday.

The Knights (1-3) and Rangers (1-3) battled to a 0-0 tie at the midpoint. Amy Lemieux opened the scoring for the Rangers part way through the second half.

Nicky Stacey spoiled the shutout with a goal on a penalty stroke with one second remaining in the game for the Knights.

St. Dom’s 2, Freeport 0

AUBURN – Eliza Dox scored once in each half to lead St. Dom’s to a 2-0 win over Freeport in an WMC field hockey contest on Saturday.

Katie Landry and Hilary Gove were credited with the assists on the goals. Austyn Carolin only needed to stop two shots in goal for the Saints (3-0).

Hannah Schucher had 23 saves in net for Freeport (2-2).

Poland 1, St. Dom’s 0 (OT)

AUBURN – An own goal by St. Dom’s broke up a scoreless tie with 1:17 remaining in overtime and gave Poland a 1-0 win in WMC girls’ soccer action on Saturday.

The goal came off a direct kick for Poland by Courtney Gray when a St. Dom’s defender deflected the ball into her own net.

Britney Michaud was credited with the goal for the Knights.

Elise Applegate made six saves in net for the Saints (2-4), while Paige Piper stopped five shots for Poland.

Hall-Dale 3, Lisbon 0

LISBON – Michelle Severance scored a pair of goals to lead Hall-Dale to a 3-0 shutout over Lisbon in girls’ soccer action Saturday.

The Bulldogs (5-0) opened the scoring when Amy Skillings conveyed a relay from Lindsay Nyitray 3:25 into the contest.

Goalie Sam Purcell turned back 13 shots for the Greyhounds (2-3), while Ali Gobout earned the shutout victory for Hall-Dale with 12 saves to her credit.

Monmouth 4, Dirigo 1

MONMOUTH – Jen Lola and Jess Gray scored two goals each to lead Monmouth to a 4-1 MVC girls’ soccer win over Dirigo on Saturday. The Mustangs (3-2) scored twice in the first half and twice more in the second.

Katie Whitman earned the victory with a four-save effort, while Dirigo’s Lorette Bryant stopped five in the loss. Emily Chase had the line Cougars’ goal.
