RANGELEY – Three different players tallied eight points as Rangeley topped Greater Portland Christian with a 47-20 win in a girls’ hoops matchup Thursday.
Hayley White recorded eight points and eight rebounds, while Nicole Crupi and Angela White each added eight points for the Lakers (13-5).
Rangeley jumped out to a 17-8 lead at the first quarter, and held the advantage throughout. The two teams met earlier last week where Greater Portland Christian won 49-42.
The Greater Portland Christian (14-2) effort was led by Vicky Woodward with six points.
Skowhegan 60, Mt. Blue 54
FARMINGTON – Megan Smith downed 16 points to lead Skowhegan to a 60-54 win over Mt. Blue in a girls’ KVAC contest Thursday evening.
Nicole Paradis added 13 points, while Beth Scevey chipped in with 12 for the Indians (17-1). While Mt. Blue led throughout the first three quarters, Skowhegan popped 8-of-11 free throws in the fourth quarter to notch the win.
Christina Mosher tallied 15 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars (11-7).
Waterville 69, Oak Hill 26
WALES – Elizabeth Bell scored 11 points in a balanced attack as Waterville lept to a 69-26 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC girls’ basketball action Thursday.
The Panthers were sharp on offense, collecting 23 points in the first quarter and another 15 in the second to take a 38-16 lead into the break. Senior forward Cassie Kupfer led all scorers for the Raiders with eight points on four field goals.
Oxford Hills 60, Leavitt 41
TURNER – Kari Pelletier drained 19 points Thursday to lead Oxford Hills to a 60-41 victory over Leavitt in a late-season KVAC girls’ matchup.
Kristina Bowden chipped in for the Vikings (10-8) with 11 points, the only other player in double digits.
The winless Hornets (0-18) were paced by Stephanie Healey with a solid 15-point performance, while Brittany Duncan tallied 10.
Ashley Naylor contributed as well with six points and 10 rebounds.
