LEWISTON – Josh Rivet scored the go-ahead goal at 25:05 in the second half off a cross from Matt Cyr as Lewiston defeated Leavitt 3-1 in varsity boys’ soccer matchup.
Jon Fournier and Matt Manley scored a goal apiece for the Blue Devils (9-3-1).
The Hornets drew first blood when Chris Rybeck found the back of the net off a corner kick at the 18:42 mark of the first half.
Monmouth 3, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP – Sean Holbrook, Adam Folsom, and Pat Trenholm each netted a goal a piece as Monmouth swept past Winthrop 3-0 in boys’ soccer action Tuesday.
Controlling the ball in midfield, which ended up being key for the Mustangs’ (10-2-1) victory, was Ben Seefieldt, Cam Saucier, Caleb Brown, Ricky Pelletier, and Josh Boisvert.
Scott Ogden stopped five shots in net for Monmouth to preserve the win. The Ramblers’ (4-7-2) Mike Gingras made 14 saves for the effort.
Maranacook 2, Oak Hill 1
READFIELD – Maranacook came from behind and tallied a pair of unanswered second half goals to defeat Oak Hill 2-1 in a KVAC soccer match-up.
Nick Mancine scored the first Black Bear (9-2-2) goal off a corner kick to tie the game at 1-1. Billy Ervin netted the game winning goal after converting a pass from Cam Madore to give Maranacook the 2-1 edge.
Ethan Perry tallied the lone Oak Hill goal within the first four minutes of the contest. The Raiders (3-9-1) came out strong, but could not keep the pressure up.
