LISBON – Matt Smith scored the lone goal of the game to give Lisbon the edge over Monmouth, posting a 1-0 victory in boys’ soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

Smith picked the ball up at the 18-yard line after Nate Osmond had booted it in on a corner kick. Both teams had plenty of scoring opportunities, but couldn’t capitalize on them. The Greyhounds (3-3-1) stood solid throughout Monmouth’s (6-2) second-half pressure.

Scott Ogden made 10 saves for the Lisbon win. Mike Wilkins stopped 12 shots for the Mustangs.

Carrabec 2, Livermore Falls 0

NORTH ANSON – Nick Caldwell and Ryan Trott each netted unassisted goals as Carrabec posted a 2-0 win over Livermore Falls in boys’ MVC soccer action Wednesday

Caldwell tallied the first of the Cobras (3-3-1) goals with 18:59 left in the first half. Trott picked up the ball and scored the insurance goal after a fumble by Andies keeper Derek Neal. Carrabec’s strong defensive effort was a key point to their win.

Danny Estes turned away six shots to preserve the shutout. Livermore Falls’ Neal made 19 saves.

Mt. Abram 5, Jay 1

JAY – Aaron Adams scored a pair of first-half goals as Mt. Abram downed Jay, 5-1, in MVC boys’ soccer action on Wednesday.

Adams corraled a pass from Chris Smith and put the ball in the net, only one minute after Jon Gilbert gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Adams and Smith hooked up again on the game-winning goal minutes later, and the Roadrunners (3-2-2) ran away with the game after that.

Paul Oberta, Donald Chretien, and Max Donham also scored for Mt. Abram.

Wyatt Johnson stopped three shots for the win in the Roadrunner net. Matt Roundy and Brad Richards split the decision in goal for the Tigers, combining for nine saves.

Hebron 5, Gould 1

BETHEL – Ben Jessome and TJ Thayer each netted a pair of goals to lead Hebron past Gould, 5-1, in boys’ soccer on Wednesday.

Undefeated Hebron (2-0) built up a 3-0 lead in the first half, but lost the shutout when Gould’s Yoo Sung Min found the back of the net in the second half. Josh Taylor also scored for Hebron.

Will Sorkin stopped all five shots that he faced for the victory. Ben Milner and Ben Koopman took turns manning the Gould net, as Milner stopped eight shots and Koopman added five saves.

Lake Region 2, St. Dom’s 1

NAPLES – Tavish Leland made a diving header and put the ball into the back of the net with 10 minutes left in regulation to lift Lake Region to a 2-1 victory over St. Dom’s in a hard-fought mid-season WMC contest Wednesday.

Jim Moreau put the Saints on the board early with an unassisted goal at the 10:44 mark of the first half. Brandon Webb scored the equalizer for the Lakers (3-4) with an assist from Todd Shigo a little over eight minutes into the second half.

Shigo crossed the 18-yard line from the left side and put the ball into the right corner. Evan Thurlow made seven saves in net to notch the win.

Austin Fuller handled netkeeping duties for the Saints, turning away 11 shots fired in his direction.

Camden Hills 5, Oak Hill 2

CAMDEN – Noah Burke led a group of five players to score goalsWednesday as Camden Hills rolled to a 5-2 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ soccer action.

Myles Davee, T.C. Didors, Josh Dufour and Cory McLain also tallied for the Windjammers (4-2) to complete the scoring. Nick Cohn made seven saves in net to notch the win.

Davy Hanlon and Nick Daggett recorded goals for the Raiders (3-4), while veteran keeper Mike Eaton turned away 16 shots.
