SWANZEY, N.H. – The Monadnock Marauders made good on a 41-yard field goal in overtime, beating the Central Maine Shockers, 17-14, in a semi-pro football game last weekend.

The Shockers jumped out to a 14-6 lead going into the half. Marvin Langley and Jon McCabe each scored a touchdown in the first half. But the Marauders punched in a touchdown and capitalized on a two-point conversion to tie it up in the third quarter.

Langley eventually rushed for 134 yards and the Shockers’ defense and special teams came up with three interceptions and fumble recoveries.

The Shockers host the Whaling City Clippers from New Bedford, Mass., in their home opener at 1 p.m. at Lewiston Athletic Park on Saturday.
