PORTLAND – John Dalton’s three-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning helped Lender’s Network sweep a Twilight League doubleheader over Lewiston/Auburn with a 4-2 victory in the second game.
Lender’s Network (8-3) won the opener 3-0.
Dalton’s bases-clearing hit came off losing pitcher Myles Whitlock (10 strikeouts), who allowed four hits over six innings.
Jason Holbrook hurled a two-hitter to garner the win. Nick Lawler led Lewiston/Auburn (5-5) with two hits, including an RBI double.
In the first game, Todd Fenwick and John Aceto combined to three-hit the visitors. Travis Anthoine delivered the big blow by smashing a two-out, two-run double in the second inning off starter Tyler Turgeon.
