LEWISTON — Soon appearing in Kevin Hart’s “Hart of the City” on Comedy Central, Jay Are Adams leads a great lineup as Maine Event Comedy returns to Baxter Brewing on Friday, Dece. 8, at 7 p.m. The show will also feature Ian Stuart, Nick Lavallee, Jamie Roux and Shana D’Andrea.

Adams, originally from Los Angeles, has performed at Broadway and Eastville Comedy Clubs in New York City and Comix at Mohegan Sun. Also an accomplished musician, Adams writes and performs original songs and hilarious parodies. His “Hart of the City” episode, recorded in Boston, will air Dec. 22.

Published writer and founder of the Portland Maine Comedy Festival, Stuart has performed in Chicago, Texas, New Mexico and Montreal. He’s a familiar face at New York City’s RoastMasters show and his self-produced online videos have surpassed hundreds of thousands of views.

Thrice named New Hampshire’s Best Comedian, Lavallee has opened for Andrew Dice Clay and his online content, including the music video “I Love You, Sally Struthers,” which starred the famous actress, has been featured on “Funny or Die” and “Rooftop Comedy.”

Portland’s Roux performs stand-up comedy all over New England. He is a co-creator and host of “MEthinks,” a Portland cable access interview and panel discussion show about Maine news and politics.

D’Andrea is new to the Maine comedy scene and pulls no punches when sharing the “joys” of married life.

The show is free and for ages 21 and older. Baxter Brewing is at 130 Mill St. FMI: call 207-513-0742 or email maineeventcomedy@gmail.com.
