LEWISTON – Bates College recovered from a five-point halftime deficit with a sparkling shooting performance to escape with an 80-73 men’s basketball triumph over Colby Sawyer on Thursday.
The Bobcats (16-5) trailed 38-33 at intermission before hitting 57 perent of their field-goal attempts in the final 20 minutes. Zak Ray led the way with 22 points.
Rob Stockwell chipped in with 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals. Jon Furbush added 16 points and Brian Gerrity had 13.
Andrew St. Claire led the Chargers (15-4) with 23 points.
