RUMFORD – Katie Pushard scored a career-high 26 points in a balanced attack as Winthrop cruised to a comfortable 55-34 victory over Mountain Valley.

Winthrop took advantage of several turnovers that led to easy layups. Emilie Knight and Amanda Garwood tossed eight points apiece for the Ramblers (7-5) in the winning effort.

The Falcons (5-6) were powered by Kristen Arsenault, who provided the majority of Mountain Valley’s scoring with 25 points.

Hall-Dale 62, Lisbon 21

LISBON FALLS – Caitlyn Laflin drained a game-high 23 points to power Hall-Dale to a 62-21 triumph over Lisbon.

Chelsey Dionne chipped in with 20 points for the Bulldogs (12-1). Heather Parry was the leading scorer for the Greyhounds (0-13) with six points.

Wiscasset 59, Telstar 54

WISCASSET – Senior guard Sarah Whitfield lit up the scoreboard with 23 points and helped Wiscasset pull away in the fourth quarter as the Redskins notched a 59-54 victory over Telstar in MVC girls’ basketball action Monday.

Whitfield recorded three 3-pointers for the Redskins (8-4). The contest was even at 46-46 after three quarters.

Sophomore guard Abby Wentworth led the Rebels with 14 points, while freshman forward Bailey Davis and junior guard Jillian Kimball tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Jay 48, Georges Valley 43

THOMASTON – Kaylie DeMillo scored 12 points and had eight assists to spark Jay to a 48-43 victory over Georges Valley.

Jay also received double-digit scoring from Sara Fetterhoff with 15 and Jessica LaBrecque with 11. The Tigers (9-4) took a 12-0 run into the second half to give them a 10 points lead at halftime.

Heather Watts led Georges Valley (5-8) with 17 points and two 3-pointers.

Mt. Abram 49, Madison 36

SALEM – Brianna Wilkins scored 14 points and pulled-down 12 rebounds to lead Mt. Abram to a 49-36 victory over Madison.

Logahn Walker added 11 points and six steals for the Roadrunners (7-5). Casey Stewart and Jessica Stewart combined for 15 points for Madison (2-10).
