RANGELEY – Krysteen Romero poured in a game-high 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Rangeley rolled past Greater Portland Christian Academy with a 50-33 win Wednesday.

The Lakers’ (2-0) lead never wavered throughout the game. At the half, they led Greater Portland 38-4.

Ashley Quimby added eight points for the win.

The Greater Portland (1-1) effort was led by Emily Johnson with 12 points.

Kents Hill 59, Hyde 28

KENTS HILL – Olivia Clukey drained a game-high 19 points as Kents Hill posted a 59-28 win over Hyde in girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

Aleigh Mills added 16 points and 15 rebounds for Kents Hill (2-0), while Jackie Gershman-Mannocchi chipped in with 10 points.

Kents Hill recorded 14 steals in the game, which proved to be a key factor to its victory.

The Hyde (1-1) effort was paced by Chelsea Malen with six points.

Buckfield 30, Richmond 17

BUCKFIELD – Desiree Brackett dropped in eight points to lead Buckfield to a 30-17 triumph over Richmond in girls’ basketball Wednesday evening.

Tiffany Dunn chipped in six points for the Bucks (1-1).

Celia Carlton and Katie Cray each scored five points for the Bobcats (1-1).

Hall-Dale 64, Telstar 58

BETHEL – Kaitlyn Lafflin drained a game-high 27 points Wednesday to propel Hall-Dale to a 64-58 comeback win over Telstar in MVC girls’ basketball action.

Chelsey Dionne chipped in for the Bulldogs (1-1) with 13 points, while Heather St. Pierre added 11.

Abby Wentworth led the Rebels (1-1) with a fine 18-point performance, while sisters Bayley and Chea Davis contributed 17 and 13 points respectively.

Telstar held a slim 27-22 lead at the half, then was outscored 27-17 in the third quarter as Hall-Dale rallied back.

Boys’ basketball

Richmond 50, Buckfield 41

BUCKFIELD – Glendon Kendrick poured in a game-high 23 points Wednesday evening to lead Richmond to a 50-41 victory over Buckfield in a EWC boys’ basketball matchup.

Gregg Gibbs chipped in for the Bobcats (1-0) with 13 points. The Bucks (1-1) held a 23-17 advantage at the half before Richmond picked up the pace.

Dan Hayes led Buckfield with a 12-point performance, while Jamie Henderson chipped in with eight and Chris Reuter added six.
