GORHAM – Edward Little graduate Megan Myles of Turner and Donna Cowing of Week’s Mills have been named co-captains of the 2004-2005 University of Southern Maine women’s basketball team.

Myles, a 2004 Little East All-Conference first-team selection, made an immediate impact in her first season with the Huskies. Myles averaged 10.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while dishing off a team-leading 92 assists from her post position. She also earned ECAC Division III All-New England and MWBCA All-State second team honors last season.

Cowing, a 5-foot-7 perimeter player, had a strong sophomore campaign while playing all 31 games last season. She averaged 6.2 points per game while adding 42 assists and 46 steals.

Southern Maine opens its 2004-05 season at home in the USM Tip-off Tournament. The Huskies will host Clarkson, the University of Maine at Farmington and Husson College on Nov. 19-20.
