FOXBORO, MASS. – Cornerback Terrell Buckley signed Tuesday with the New England Patriots.
The 12-year veteran played a total of 31 games with the team in 2001 and 2002. He spent last season with Miami, for whom he also had played earlier in his career.
Buckley, who ranks third among active players with 47 interceptions, also has played for Green Bay and Denver. He was taken by the Packers with the fifth overall pick of the 1992 draft.
The Patriots cut running back Frank Moreau, fullback Philip Crosby and long snapper Sean McDermott.
Buffalo signs 7th-round pick
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Receiver Jonathan “Freddie” Smith, the second of Buffalo’s two seventh-round draft picks, signed with the Bills on Tuesday.
Smith, the 214th player selected in April’s draft, was a versatile threat at Georgia, serving as a punt returner, halfback and quarterback.
