Kristin Keene punches in the game-winner for Edward Little.

AUBURN – Kristin Keene notched a pair of goals, including the game winner in overtime, as EL snuck past rival Lewiston 4-3 in field hockey action Tuesday.

Keene’s first goal came off a pass from Gina Gaetani in the first half of the contest. Her second came with 4:51 left in overtime. Heather Martineau chipped in with a goal and two assists.

Her goal came off a penalty stroke after a Lewiston player stepped on a ball, preventing a goal. Meredith Johnson chipped in with a goal for the Eddies’ (9-4-1) win.

Lewiston (5-9) was led with goals by Lauren St. Laurent, Becky Boyle, and Ashley Joy.

Mt. Ararat 1,

Oxford Hills 0

TOPSHAM – Mt. Ararat’s Brianna Thompson scored the game-winning goal in the second half as the Eagles shutout the Vikings, 1-0, in field hockey action Tuesday.

The Viking goalie Val Seems had an outstanding game in net, making 19 saves.

Mt. Blue 2, Lawrence 0

FARMINGTON – Heidi Judkins netted two goals to lead Mt. Blue to a 2-0 win over Lawrence in field hockey action Tuesday afternoon.

Both of Judkins’ goals came in the first half of the contest. Sarah Pluck passed a wide shot to Judkins who popped it in. Heather Groder passed across the front of the net where Judkins chipped it in for her second goal.

The Cougars’ (7-6-1) Aubrey Ramos stopped all eight shots she faced for the shutout. Heather Miller made 15 saves for the Bulldogs (1-13).

Dirigo 1, Livermore 0

DIXFIELD – With 1:19 left in double overtime, Dana Burns scored on a textbook breakaway play to lift Dirigo to a 1-0 win over Livermore Falls in MVC field hockey action Tuesday.

Danny Tompkins was solid in net, stopping 18 shots to preserve the shutout for the Cougars (2-11-1). Sam Whiting made 10 saves for the Andies (0-12-2).

Poland 1, Waynflete 0

POLAND – With 1:58 remaining in overtime, Jessy Hodgkiss netted the game-winning goal to lift Poland to a 1-0 victory over Waynflete, allowing the Knights to win two games in a season.

Hodgkiss stood waiting for the ball at the post and received a pass from Becky Lindquist to score the lone goal of the game.

Rachel Sheloske made 10 saves for the Knights’ shutout.

Soccer

St. Dom’s 2, Traip 0

KITTERY – Lindsey Rowbotham tallied a pair of goals to lead St. Dom’s to a 2-0 win over Traip Academy in girls’ soccer Tuesday afternoon.

Rowbotham scored her first goal off a direct kick in the first half of the contest. Her second goal came off a converted pass from Renee Meservier to secure the Saints’ (7-7) win.

Emily Staszak made five saves to preserve St. Dom’s shutout. Jill Seward stopped four shots for the Rangers.

Winslow 3, Rockland 0

WINSLOW – Brittany Morin netted two goals with Sarah Roderigue assisting on both to lead Winslow to a 3-0 win over Rockland in girls’ soccer Tuesday.

Roderigue also chipped in with a goal off a pass from Sara Lane for the Black Raiders (10-3).

Marie McClarie made two saves to preserve the shutout, while Rebecca Rhodes made nine saves for the Tigers (2-10-1).

Oxford Hills 3, Leavitt 2

TURNER – Caitlyn Stauder netted two goals, including the game-winner, as Oxford Hills slipped past Leavitt 3-2 in soccer action Tuesday.

Stephanie Pirrainen chipped in with a goal, while Lauren Austin recorded the only two assists of the game for the Vikings (6-6-1).

The Hornets (3-8-2) were led by Emily Page with both goals.

Lisbon 2, Boothbay 2

BOOTHBAY – Lisbon and Boothbay (2-8-4) took turns scoring as the teams eventually played to a 2-2 tie in girls’ soccer action Tuesday.

Boothbay’s Megan Willey and Kylee Higgins scored a goal each in the game. Dominique Mathieu had two goals for the Greyhounds (6-7-1).

Mt. Abram 3,

Monmouth 0

MONMOUTH – Heather Hayes got things started with a goal in the first half for Mt. Abram as the Roadrunners shut out Monmouth 3-0 in girls’ soccer Tuesday.

Mt. Abram (8-6) Gabriella Brochu and Liz Kankainen also scored for Mt. Abram. Monmouth (5-8-1) goalies Amanda Cobran and Kim Johnson made a combined five saves.

Buckfield 0, Richmond 0

BUCKFIELD – Buckfield and Richmond drew to a 0-0 tie as the contest was called due to darkness with two minutes left in double overtime soccer action Tuesday.

Shayna Shackford was solid in net, making a strong 28 saves for Buckfield. Leslie Workman was unmovable at the stopper position for Buckfield (4-7-2).

Richmond’s Becky Cloutier made nine saves for the Bobcats (5-5-1).

Dirigo 3,

Mountain Valley 1

DIXFIELD – Dirigo’s Dani Glover scored a goal in each half as Dirigo beat Mountain Valley 3-1 in girls’ soccer Tuesday.

Katie Hutchinson scored the other goal for Dirigo. The Falcons received an unassisted goal from Katie Heinzen in the second half.
