Auburn Rec men’s basketball
AUBURN – Basketball season is here and Auburn Recreation Department is now taking team registrations for the 2009-10 men’s basketball leagues. Team registration fee is $845. This is the only fee from your team for the season.
Registrations will be taken through Friday, Nov. 27. Rosters must have at least eight and no more than 12 players. Auburn Rec strongly encourages teams to carry as many Auburn-Lewiston residents as possible, but teams must have at least a simple majority of Auburn-Lewiston residents. The following will be the only forms of identification accepted:
• Photocopy of current driver’s license – front and back.
• Photocopy of current utility bill; electric, water or cable only.
• Photocopy of current property tax or residential rental bill.
Opening practices will be scheduled for the first week of December. Games will begin the week of Dec. 14. FMI, email Doug Beck at [email protected] or call 333-6601, ext. 2102.
New this year: Auburn Rec also is organizing a men’s 35 & over league for the folks who enjoy the game but want a more relaxed pace. This league will take full advantage of all the slowdown rules in place and will abide by a “call your own fouls” model of play with no officials. Teams entering this league must meet all roster requirements as outlined above, but all players must be at least 35 years old. Registrations will remain open until there are at least four teams registered. Games are weeknights (Monday-Wednesday), with one game a week for a 10-week schedule plus playoffs. The league’s team comprehensive fee is $395.
