MADISON – Chris Kates had three touchdowns and passed for a fourth as Lisbon sprinted to a 35-12 win over Madison in a Class C Pine Tree Conference football game.
The Greyhounds (2-1) initiated the scoring in the first period when Kates converted a pass to Levi Ervin, and Max Hathaway followed up with the point-after kick. Kates had an excellent outing, executing the option well in the quarterback position and running for 122 yards on the evening.
The Bulldogs (1-2) battled tough in the second quarter, scoring a pair of touchdown runs from Tony Fortin and Woody Noyes to keep the game within reach at 14-12 going into intermission.
Livermore Falls 41, Traip 14
LIVERMORE FALLS – Brad Bryant rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns with a long of 75 yards to lead Livermore Falls to a convincing 41-14 win over Traip Academy in football action Friday evening.
Karlton Jones added a pair of touchdown scampers, accumulating 64 yards while Ryan Webster added 62 yards in the lopsided win.
Leavitt 48, MDI 0
MOUNT DESERT ISLAND – Broc Hardacker ran for two touchdowns and Matt Cote threw for two more as Leavitt beat MDI 48-0.
Hardacker ripped off a 55-yard score by bouncing outside on an inside trap to put the Hornets (2-1) up 6-0.
The Hornets pulled away in the second quarter, erupting for 28 points. Corey Witham scored on a nine-yard burst to ignite the outburst.
Leading 20-0, the Hornets’ Chris Brewer capped a long drive with a 19-yard run. On the scoring drive he churned out 55 yards on six carries. Cote then hit Brandon Powell over the middle for a 19-yard score, and the Hornets led 34-0.
The Trojans fall to 0-3.
Old Orchard Beach 31, Dirigo-Buckfield 12
OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Bobby Civey ran for two short scoring runs as Old Orchard Beach defeated Dirigo-Buckfield 31-12.
The Seagulls (1-2) jumped out to a 13-0 lead after one quarter as Mike Perron found Jesse Allen for a 12-yard score and Civey went over from two yards out. The Bucks (0-3) answered with a Jamie Henderson run to close to within 13-6. Henderson would later toss a six-yard pass to Josh Daley.
Zack Smith added a four-yard touchdown for OOB.
