KVAC softball overview
The Class A teams in the KVAC featured some of the best pitchers in the state the last few seasons. Now teams like Skowhegan, Oxford Hills and Lawrence are trying to fill that void. Leavitt, Cony and Messalonskee return quality hurlers and should be among the league’s best as a result. Lawrence still has eight players back from last year, despite graduation losses. Those clubs also return some talent elsewhere. The Rams have most of its club back while the Hornets, Bulldogs Eagles and Skowhegan have some quality players returning. Don’t count out Oxford Hills. The Vikings suffered some key losses , but they typically bounce back quickly. Teams like Brunswick and Morse should improve on last year and be sound competitive clubs that should challenge for postseason spots. In Class B, Belfast has 10 seniors back. Oak Hill has two strong pitchers and a fine crew supporting them. Winslow should also be a contender. Maranacook and Erskine both lost key personnel but should rebound.
