FARMINGTON — A Franklin County grand jury indicted three men on arson charges in connection with burning a bulldozer Nov. 14, 2017, in Sandy River Plantation.

Devon Clark, 18, of Rangeley, Alexander Allan, 37, of Dallas Plantation and Michael Stanley, 23, of East Templeton, Massachusetts, were each indicted on one count of Class A arson and two counts of Class C aggravated criminal mischief.

The Caterpillar D-5 bulldozer belonging to Cousineau Inc. of Wilton was on Cousineau property. The burned machine was found in a swamp on Beech Hill Road. An excavator was driven off to the side of a dirt road some distance away. It had been damaged but not by fire, according to authorities.

State fire investigators charged the men.

Clark was staying with Allan in Dallas Plantation at the time of the fire.

A conviction on a Class A arson charge carries a penalty of up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. A conviction on a Class C criminal mischief charge is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
