FARMINGTON — A Jay man accused of hitting his girlfriend over the head with a cane last month was indicted Thursday on an aggravated assault charge.
Ronald E. Tarckini, 65, was indicted by a grand jury on the felony charge and a misdemeanor charge of refusing to submit to arrest or detention.
Jay police responded to a report of a disturbance at 2 Barker St. in Jay at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 31, 2017, and found a woman with a “severe laceration” to her head and covered in blood from a domestic violence assault, Police Chief Richard Caton IV previously said.
She was taken by ambulance to a Farmington hospital.
Tarckini locked himself in a bedroom, according to officer Dylan Rider’s report filed with the court. Police kicked in the door and subdued him when he refused to submit to arrest, Caton said this month.
