MIAMI – Jake Peavy won for the first time in more than three weeks and Tadahito Iguchi hit the go-ahead two-run double to help the San Diego Padres defeat the Florida Marlins 7-2 on Saturday night.
Peavy allowed two runs, five hits, walked two and struck out eight in 5 2-3 innings. It was the 2007 National League Cy Young Award winner’s first win since April 11.
Mike Jacobs homered and Jeremy Hermida had three hits for the Marlins, who have dropped four of five.
