Service moving 

NORTH WATERFORD — The 10 a.m. Sunday service will move to the Stoneham Congregational Church beginning Aug. 2. A bottle drive is continuing to raise funds for Pilgrim Lodge camp scholarships. They may be dropped off at the Stoneham church, the North Waterford Congregational Church or call the Rev. George Frobig at 693-6461 to arrange for pickup.

Society speaker

GREENWOOD — The Greenwood Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the historical building on Main Street. John Davis will present a program on Charles. E. Lee, Great London 25 Cent Shows, that performed at Norway and other locations along the Grand Trunk Railway in the 1890s. Everyone is welcome.

Knitters to meet

PARIS — The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the First Congregational Church, South Paris. The program will be an auction and planning for the September birthday part as well as the exhibit at the Oxford County Fair.

Club trip 

OXFORD — The Twin Town Nature Club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the Wal-Mart parking lot. south side near Route 26, and car pool to Two Lights State Park for a picnic lunch and to Crescent Beach State Park for a swim. GREENWOOD — The annual meeting of the Community Lake Association will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Greenwood Town Hall.

Blueberry fest

GREENWOOD — The annual Blueberry Festival will be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Locke mills Union Church. There will be blueberry pancakes, sundaes, pies and trinkets and treasures.

Marley to appear

HS donations

WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Historical Society Research Library has received a number of donations.

Among them are the “Simply Elegant Cookbook” and the “Newport Cookbook,” with many photos of historic Newport, R.I. In addition, there is an antique book called “The Dictionary of Furniture” and an art book on collections in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

A small antiques sign is also among the latest additions to the society exhibit.

 Tables available

PARIS — American Legion Auxiliary 72, Church Street, will
hold its annual craft fair on Oct. 17. Crafters can rent a table for
$10. Tables will be reserved by first response and must be done by Saturday, Aug. 15.
