Robert P. Roy
1936 – 2009

BELLINGHAM, Mass. — Robert P. Roy, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 22, at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 45 years of Marie D. (Woodman) Roy.

He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 4, 1936, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Carrier) Roy. A resident of Bellingham for more than 40 years, he was formerly of Marlborough and Maine.

He was a truck driver for Abbott Lab in Franklin for many years, until retiring. He was also co-owner, with his wife, of Marie’s Restaurant in Bellingham for many years.

He was a member of the Country Music Club at the Uxbridge VFW and enjoyed woodworking, motorcycle riding and flying his plane.

He was the loving father of Gary Roy and his wife, Eleanor, of Marlborough, Mass., Robert P. Roy Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Ashby, Mass., Deborah Margolis of Hopedale, Mass., Elizabeth Willis of Upton, Mass., and Diane Ryka of Montana; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; he was the brother of Raymond Roy and his wife, Renee, of Orlando, Fla., Cecile Forgues and her husband, Fernand, of Lewiston and the late Roland Roy, Ann Belisle, Violette Bisson and Armanda Lemay.
