DEAR SUN SPOTS: The “Knights Before Christmas” Council 8742, Auburn, will be winding down its first toy drive for children in foster care on Nov. 13, at the Grid Iron Restaurant and Sports Bar, 1567 Lisbon St., Lewiston, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. We are asking for new unwrapped toys and gift cards for children of all ages. DEAR SUN SPOTS: The First Universalist Church will hold its annual Gingerbread Fair on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at in the vestry at 169 Pleasant St. in Auburn. Jewelry, crafts, home-baked pies and baked goods, evergreen wreaths, gingerbread treats, books, white elephant items, and a wide selection of gift baskets will be available. There will be face painting for children and a silent auction as well. DEAR SUN SPOTS: The South Paris Universalist Church on Pine Street will hold a holiday fair on Saturday , Nov. 14, featuring a hot beef stew or corn chowder luncheon served with homemade biscuit, apple crisp dessert and hot beverages for only $5.50. Takeout orders can be made or luncheons can be served in the hall. Tables will have home-baked food and handcrafted items, mittens, antiques and collectibles, items that are holiday decorations, toys and raffles. DEAR SUN SPOTS: Stone-Smart American Legion Auxiliary will be holding a Christmas sale on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the post home on Main Street. The purpose of this sale is to make gift shopping inexpensive; no item will be priced at more than $10, and many items will be a lot less. Our mission is to make it possible for people in the area to have an enjoyable Christmas and also have fun shopping at our sale.

We will have crafters, a white elephant sale, a homemade candy table and a large food sale. There will also be a lunch counter, serving light lunches. A few tables will be rented out for $5 each.
